Welcome Letter from Conference Chairs

It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to Beijing, for the 2014 IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo Asia-Pacific (ITEC Asia-Pacific 14). We are very proud that inaugural ITEC Asia-Pacific 2014, as the sister of ITEC North America, is starting right here and right now! ITEC Asia-Pacific 2014 aims at helping the global industry, especially the Asian-Pacific region, in the transition from conventional vehicles to advanced electrified vehicles. The conference focuses on components, systems, standards, and grid interface technologies, related to efficient power conversion for all types of electrified transportations, including electrical and hybrid electrical vehicles on road, electrified heavy duty vehicles off road, high speed train on rail way, more airplanes in space and electrified ships in sea and ocean.

ITEC Asia-Pacific 2014 is replete with distinguished plenary speakers, tutorials given by top professionals from industry and academia, panels of experts in state-of-the-art technology discussions and ample opportunities to network and make new acquaintances in the area of transportation electrifications. In addition, our authors will report their latest research achievements through more than 700 high equality technical papers. Of particular mentioning is the Youth Program contributed by our younger generation, showing their in-depth understanding of vehicle electrification and enormous enthusiasm for environment protection and economy sustainability.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to all this year’s ITEC Asia-Pacific attendees and look forward to meeting you over the four days of the conference. We hope that you will have a memorable experience. If you would like to be directly involved with the coming ITEC Asia conferences, we welcome you to join forces with us in improving it and addressing the needs of the industry in Asia and other regions.

Finally, we would like to thank all the members and volunteers of organizing committee, program committee chairs and co-chairs, track chairs and co-chairs, and the authors for their efforts in putting together this event. Special thanks are given to ITEC Asia-Pacific Steering Committee and leadership of IEEE Industry Applications Society, Power Electronics Society, and Power & Energy Society.

Warmest Regards,

Conference and General Chair: Fengchun Sun, Beijing Institute of Technology, China

Conference Co-Chair: Longya Xu, The Ohio State University, USA

General Co-Chair: Yaohua Li, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China

CALL FOR AUTHORSIEEE Electrification Magazine

——Articles wanted for the new IEEE Electrification Magazine

The launch of IEEE Electrification Magazine has created an opportunity for professionals within the industry and academic community to submit articles for publication. We welcome your expertise in the areas of:

  • Electric Vehicles
  • Electric Trains
  • Electric Planes
  • Electric Ships
  • Off-Grid Electricity

Feature articles focus on advanced concepts, technologies, and practices associated with all aspects of electrification in the transportation and off-grid sectors from a technical perspective in synergy with nontechnical areas such as business, environmental, and social concerns.

There is no IEEE magazine which has a global view of electrification in both transportation and off-grid electrification applications. The IEEE Electrification Magazine will fill the need felt by engineers in industry as well as policy makers who require information on the technology, use cases and field experience of electrification.

※All papers presented at ITEC Asia-Pacific 2014 are possible to be published on the new IEEE Electrification Magazine.
